A little bit about Auburndale, FL!

Auburndale is a city located in Polk County, Florida, in the United States. The area now known as Auburndale was originally inhabited by Native Americans, specifically the Tocobaga and the Seminole tribes.

In 1880, the South Florida Railroad came through the area, and a town was established. The town was named Auburndale by one of the founders, Frank Fuller, who was originally from Auburn, New York. Auburndale grew quickly, and by 1911 it had become an incorporated city. Auburndale’s economy was based on citrus farming and phosphate mining. During the 20th century, the city’s population grew steadily, and in the 1970s, Auburndale became known as the “City of Lakes” due to its numerous bodies of water.

Today, Auburndale continues to grow and prosper. The city is home to a number of parks and recreational areas, including the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex, which hosts a variety of sporting events and tournaments throughout the year. The city also has a vibrant downtown area with shops, restaurants, and cultural attractions.
